Knowledge Domain Course Offerings

The 2026-2027 knowledge domain courses (under 299) included below are recommended for new first-year students.

Come to your advising appointment prepared to share your top three preferred courses from each knowledge domain category.

How to View Courses in MyNIU

1. Log in to the MyNIU student system.
2. Adjust the filters in the Search for Classes section:
   • Term: Set to the term you wish to view.
   • Course Number: Set to less than or equal to and enter 299 in the box to the right.
   • Course Attribute: Set to Knowledge Domain.
   • Course Attribute Value: Set to the Knowledge Domain category you wish to view.
3. Select Search, then select the class number for the desired class.
4. Check if any prerequisites are required and if the section number includes any of the following indicators:
   • H: for honors students
   • P: for students with a high school GPA below 3.0
   • Y: online; may be held for sophomores, juniors and seniors
5. Click Select (yellow box) for the desired course and follow the steps to add it to your shopping cart.
6. Go to your shopping cart in Manage Classes. Select desired courses and click Enroll.
